IDIOMS AND SAYINGS
- Bring home the bacon = To earn a living for the family
- example: Ahmad felt that it was his responsibility to bring home the bacon as his father had died a month before.
- To sell like hot cakes = To sell quickly or rapidly
- example: Datuk Siti Nurhaliza's latest albums were sold like hot cakes.
- Cry over spilt milk = To cry or complain about something that has already happened.
- example: It's no good crying over spilt milk, what's done is done.
- To be fired = To be dismissed from your job.
- example: Mike was always coming late to work, so eventually he was fired.
- To put all your eggs in one basket = To risk everything on one person or thing
- example: You shouldn't invest all your money in just one business, it would be like putting all your eggs in one basket.
